In short
porterm shows what your crypto is worth. It keeps the least it can, sells nothing, shows no ads, and uses no tracking cookies. You can take everything back as a file or erase it, at any time, from the wallet menu.
As a guest
Without signing in, your coins, amounts, colours and the wallets you watch are kept in this browser only (its local storage); porterm stores none of it. To show prices and balances, the site still asks porterm's server for the coins' prices and for the watched addresses' balances (see below), without any link to you; those answers are only cached for a few minutes. Clearing the site's data in your browser erases it all.
With an account
You sign in by signing a short message with an Ethereum wallet. It proves you own the address; it costs nothing and moves no funds. porterm then keeps, for your account:
- your wallet address (it is your identity here);
- your portfolio: the coins and amounts you enter, and the colours you pick;
- the wallet addresses you watch, their labels and networks, and the coins you hide;
- once a day, the total value of your portfolio, to draw its real history.
No name, email, password or private key is ever asked for or stored. Watched addresses are public on the blockchain; porterm only reads their balances.
Who handles what
- Netlify (hosting)
- Serves the site and runs its server functions. Like any web host, it keeps technical logs of requests (such as IP addresses) for a short time. porterm's own functions never write wallet addresses to these logs. From these same logs, Netlify Analytics counts visits for porterm: pages seen, visitors (told apart by IP address), countries and referring sites, kept 30 days and shown to porterm only as totals. It adds no script and no cookie to the page.
- Supabase (account and database)
- Stores the account data listed above. Each account can only read and change its own rows.
- CoinGecko (prices)
- porterm's server asks for prices and coin lists; your browser does not talk to CoinGecko, and nothing about you is sent.
- Alchemy (wallet balances)
- To show a watched wallet's balances, porterm's server sends that public address to Alchemy, and nothing else about you.
Fonts and images are served by porterm itself: no font service, analytics script or tracking cookie follows you here.
When something breaks
If the page hits a programming error, your browser sends porterm a short technical report: the error message, where in the code it happened,
and the page's path. Wallet addresses and anything after a ? in links are removed before it leaves your browser, and again on arrival.
These reports only go to porterm's own server log, which Netlify keeps for a few days.
How long
Account data stays until you delete it. Delete account (wallet menu, once signed in) erases the account and everything in it at once, for good. Export my data gives you all of it as a JSON file first, if you want to keep it.
Your rights
You can see, export, correct and delete your data yourself, from the site. For anything else about your data, contact the publisher (see the legal notice).
